BODY TALK PLUS

It’s a game for the uninhibited.  Let your bodies do the talking!

Two teams of two attempt to act out words or phrases in order to solve a series of word puzzles.

Each team will select an actor and a guesser for the first round.  Teams play one at a time.

The actor tries to get their teammate (guesser) to guess a series of five words or phrases through charades.  Each team will be given 60 seconds in the acting round.

The first word is revealed to the actor and the timer begins.  If the guesser guesses the correct word or phrase, another word or phrase will appear.  If a team gets hung up on a particular word or phrase, they may PASS and come back to it if there is time.

The actor will continue to act out until the timer reaches 0, or all five words or phrases have been successfully guessed.

An asterisk(*) will appear next to the final word or phrase to be guessed (the other four have been successfully guessed).

Once the timer reaches 0, or all five words or phrases have been successfully guessed, the puzzle round begins.

The five words or phrases in the acting round all belong to a word puzzle.  The words or phrase have been removed, as well as two additional words or phrases, as denoted by the numbers in the puzzle.

For every word or phrase that was successfully guessed in the acting round, they will be revealed on the puzzle board.  Let’s say Team 1 was able to guess two words or phrases in the acting round.  They are revealed as below:

The guesser of Team 1 now has a chance to guess what the subject of the puzzle is.  The subject can be a person, place, thing, or phrase.  If the guesser can successfully guess what the subject of the puzzle is, Team 1 receives $100.

If they are unsuccessful, the guesser from Team 2 has a chance to steal the $100.  The Team 2 guesser chooses one of the remaining numbers to reveal another part of the puzzle.

The Team 2 guesser chooses number 5, which reveals the word PLAYERS. (Words or phrases that appear in parentheses denote a word or phrase that was not among the original five that were acted).

If the Team 2 guesser guesses the subject of the puzzle, Team 2 receives the $100.  If they are incorrect, the Team 1 guesser is then allowed to choose another number to be revealed.

This continues until one of the guessers guesses the correct subject.

Once the first puzzle is solved, any remaining hints are revealed (just for fun).

Team 2 will now begin their acting round and subsequent puzzle round.

After the first two puzzles have been solved, teammates will switch jobs and gameplay will continue as before.

The first two puzzles are each worth $100 and the next two puzzles are each worth $250.  The first team to $500 after the first four puzzles wins the match!

If no winner has been determined after the first four puzzles, an additional puzzle is played for $250.  No acting is done and both teammates are allowed to guess.

The team that successfully guessed the last puzzle chooses whether to go first or let the other team go first.  Teams choose numbers to reveal hints until one team can successfully guess the subject.

The winning team goes on to play the Bonus Sweepstakes!

The Bonus Sweepstakes is played in two parts:  The first part consists of ten words or phrases to be acted out by one member of the winning team.  The team is given 60 seconds.  Each word or phrase that is successfully guessed earns the team $100.

As before, any word or phrase can be passed and will come up again if there is time.  As well, an asterisk will appear if only one word or phrase is remaining.

Let’s say the winning team was able to guess 7 words or phrases in 60 seconds.

The clock is now reset to 20 seconds.  The actor of the team will attempt to act out three remaining words or phrases (the Bonus Orange Words).

If the team is able to guess all three of the bonus orange words, their total from the first part of the Sweepstakes ($700) will be multiplied by 10!

*RULES FOR ACTING

  • You may NOT use sounds or speak in any way.
  • You may NOT use props or point to nearby objects as clues.
  • You MAY point to your body or use anything on your body for clues.
  • Forms of words are acceptable, but all words must be said to count as correct. (i.e. if acting “Jazz Singer,” a guess of “Jazz Singing” is acceptable, but not simply “Jazz”)

*FOR ALL SHOWS: The main purpose for these shows is entertainment and fun, first and foremost.  While many of these games display large amounts of money and/or lavish prizes, we do NOT provide any such prizes for the games.  All parties are welcome to provide their own prizes/gifts that may be implemented in gameplay.  Below are simply some suggestions we have come up with in order to make the gameplay more interesting and/or competitive.

*ADD A SWAG BAG!: Want to play for real prizes?  Add a swag bag of awesome Eek! products to any gameshow package and award gifts as individual prizes or play for an ultimate prize package!

Depending on the size of your party, you may play in larger teams.

If you would like to provide your own prizes, you can include them as part of winning the main game or the bonus round, or you could use the “money” won as a currency to buy prizes.  For example, if a team wins a total of $7,500, they could trade that money in for a prize (say a $5 Starbucks gift card is worth $2,500, a $10 Amazon card is worth $5,000, a paid day off work is worth $10,000, etc.).  Again, you would need to provide these prizes, but we are happy to keep score for you.

On the TV gameshow, if a team successfully answered all five words or phrases in an acting round, the team received a $500 bonus.  You may include this feature as part of the score, or award a separate prize for doing so.
