TRIPLE BULLS-EYE

This is the game in which daring determines the fate of the player…

This is the game of strategy, luck, and knowledge…Just like an 80’s classic, make the contract and hit the Bullseye!

Two contestants will play head-to-head, trying to answer questions from an assortment of eight categories.  They can cover a number of topics, and there may also be visual categories.

The object of the game is to be the first player to accumulate $2,000.   Before the game starts, four of the categories will be revealed in the top left window of the game board, and the other four will be revealed in the top right window.  The bottom window contains the CONTRACT NUMBER.

These categories and contract numbers are then shuffled and hidden on the board.  PLAYER 1 will hit their buzzer to stop the board spinning.  Each of the top two windows will reveal a category, as well as a dollar amount.  The dollar amounts refer to how much each question in that particular category is worth (in our version, the dollar amounts range from $150 to $350).   The contract number will determine how many questions must be answered in order to complete the contract.  The contract number can be anything from 1 to 5, or a BULLSEYE.

In this example, PLAYER 1 has the choice of answering questions about “Rock ‘n’ Roll” at $350 a question, or “Human Anatomy” at $300 a question, and the contract is for 3 questions.  Let’s say they choose “Rock ‘n’ Roll.” If PLAYER 1 answers the question correctly, $350 will be added to the pot, and two questions remain in the contract. If PLAYER 1 answers another question correct, another $350 will be added to the pot, leaving one question in the contract.  If PLAYER 1 is able to answer the final question of the contract, they now have a decision to make:

  • They can bank the money that was accumulated from that contract (in this case, $1,050), but then control goes to their opponent, who then chooses the next category after the board is shuffled again.  OR…
  • They can choose to leave the money in the bank and maintain control of the board.

If at any time during the contract a contestant gives an incorrect answer, their opponent then has the chance to answer the same question.  If the opponent does answer the question correctly, they are now in control of the contract and have the opportunity to finish it.  In the example above, let’s say PLAYER 1 answered the first question correctly, but answers the next question incorrectly.  If PLAYER 2 answers that same question correctly, they are now in control and receive the final question of the contract.  If both players answer the same question incorrectly, a new question will be asked and control reverts back to the original player.

If the BULLSEYE appears in the contract window, a contestant can answer as many or as few questions as they wish.

Every contract must be completed in order for the game to progress (even if a contestant has reached the $2,000 goal).  The first player to successfully bank at least $2,000 proceeds to BONUS STAR!

Using the same game board, the categories and contract numbers are replaced by dollar amounts ($100, $200, and $300), BULLSEYES and the dreaded LIGHTNING!  All three windows are shuffled and hidden.  With each spin, the contestant hopes to land on dollar amounts and BULLSEYES. Anytime a dollar amount appears, it will go into the BONUS POT.  If the LIGHTNING ever appears, the contestant loses all accumulated money and the bonus game is over.  There are two different ways to win BONUS STAR:

  • Anytime a BULLSEYE appears, the contestant has the option of freezing that window on the BULLSEYE.  If 3 BULLSEYES appear in the windows, whatever money the contestant has accumulated is doubled (on the TV gameshow, the contestant also won a prize package). OR…
  • If the contestant manages to avoid the LIGHTNING for a maximum of 10 spins, they will automatically be awarded $5,000 (and the same prize package from the TV gameshow). The LIGHTNING can only appear behind one window, so if that window is frozen on a BULLSEYE, the LIGHTNING will not reappear.

The contestant may quit the bonus game at any time if they ever fear the LIGHTNING and keep whatever money they have accumulated.  The contestant also has the option to not freeze a BULLSEYE if they wish.

*FOR ALL SHOWS: The main purpose for these shows is entertainment and fun, first and foremost.  While many of these games display large amounts of money and/or lavish prizes, we do NOT provide any such prizes for the games.  All parties are welcome to provide their own prizes/gifts that may be implemented in gameplay.  Below are simply some suggestions we have come up with in order to make the gameplay more interesting and/or competitive.

*ADD A SWAG BAG!: Want to play for real prizes?  Add a swag bag of awesome Eek! products to any gameshow package and award gifts as individual prizes or play for an ultimate prize package!

Determining Players 1 and 2 may be done via coin flip, drawing, etc.

Since “Triple Bulls-Eye” uses an accumulated cash system, it may be fun to keep score to see how much each contestant wins altogether (main game and bonus game money), and the contestant who wins the most is the big winner!

If you would like to provide your own prizes, you can include them as part of the prize package if someone wins the bonus game, or you could use the “money” won as a currency to buy prizes.  For example, if a contestant wins a total of $7,000, they could trade that money in for a prize (say a $5 Starbucks gift card is worth $1,000, a $10 Amazon card is worth $3,000, a paid day off work is worth $5,000, etc.).  Again, you would need to provide these prizes, but we are happy to keep score for you.

For larger groups, you may use teams instead of individuals for each game.

Since a “Triple BullS-Eye” package comes with three full games and bonus rounds, you may have the winners of the first two games compete in the final game, or use a “returning champion” feature, where whomever wins each game continues to the next.

Because it is possible for Player 1 to win without even allowing Player 2 to answer a question, you can implement a rule that the first (and possibly second) contract must be banked, and then allow gameplay to continue normally.  Or let Player 2 play in the next game (as the TV gameshow would allow in such a case).
