THE FEUD!

Ready for action?!  On your marks, let’s start the Feud!

Two teams (or families) of five will compete against each other in a series of rounds where the object is to come up with the most popular answers to survey questions.  The first team or family that reaches 300 points in the game wins and gets the chance to play FAST CASH!

In each round, teams will be asked a survey question that was answered by 100 people.  One representative from each team will first compete in a FACE-OFF for control of the board.  The board will reveal the number of top answers given for that question (a minimum of 2 of the 100 people must have submitted an answer for it to appear on the board).

For an example, this question has 6 top answers.  The question is read: “Name something someone might want for a hangover.”  The two representatives will hit their buzzers, trying to be the first to ring in and guess an answer.  A player may buzz in at any time while the question is being read, however if they buzz in before the question is finished, they are not allowed to hear the full question.

The first player to buzz in then must give an answer immediately.  If they answer in time and their answer is on the board, it will be revealed, as well as the number of people out of 100 that answered it.  If they buzz in and take too long to answer, or submit an incorrect answer, they will receive a STRIKE, and their opponent is then allowed to answer.

If the first player to buzz in gives an answer that is NOT the #1 answer, their opponent will receive a chance to give an answer that is higher on the board.  The team that submits the highest answer wins control of the board and decides whether they want to PLAY or PASS the board.

The team that plays the board will try to give all the remaining top answers before submitting three incorrect answers, or three STRIKES.  Each member of the team playing the board will guess an answer one at a time, in order.  If a team member gives a correct answer, it will appear on the board.  If the answer is incorrect, the team receives a STRIKE.

If the playing team successfully guesses all of the answers on the board, they will win all the points for that question, which is determined by adding the numbers next to each correct answer (not every question will have an exact 100 point value).  If the playing team earns three STRIKES, the opposing team will then get the opportunity to STEAL the points by submitting one guess as a team.  If their answer appears on the board, they will receive all accumulated points for that question.  If their answer is incorrect, the original playing team will receive the points.

*NOTE: The team playing the board may not interact with one another while deciding on answers.  However, the team NOT playing the board is allowed to talk with one another to decide on a team answer.

The first three rounds will play for single points.  All point values are DOUBLED in round four, and then TRIPLED in every subsequent round if they are needed (rounds with TRIPLE points will be played with only one STRIKE instead of 3).  The first team that reaches 300 points wins and plays FAST CASH!

The winning team selects two of its members to play FAST CASH.  The first member will have 20 seconds to answer five survey questions.  They will try to give the most popular answers to each question.  The more popular the answer, the more points are awarded to the team.

If they are hung up on a question, they may say PASS and come back to it if there is time.  After the first team member finishes, their answers are revealed on the board, along with the number of people from the survey that answered the same.

The second team member will then answer the same five questions in 25 seconds.  They must submit different answers from their partner to receive additional points.  Any repeated answers must be answered again.  If after both team members answer the questions and accumulate a score of 200 or better, they win FAST CASH!

*FOR ALL SHOWS: The main purpose for these shows is entertainment and fun, first and foremost.  While many of these games display large amounts of money and/or lavish prizes, we do NOT provide any such prizes for the games.  All parties are welcome to provide their own prizes/gifts that may be implemented in gameplay.  Below are simply some suggestions we have come up with in order to make the gameplay more interesting and/or competitive.

Depending on the size of your party, you can adjust the size of the teams as necessary.  There must be a minimum of two on a team.  You may determine the order your team plays in, or it can be done by random drawing.

On the TV gameshow, the winner of the bonus round received a cash prize ($10,000 and, later, $20,000).  If the team playing the bonus round did not win, the points they accumulated would be multiplied by $5 and that is the prize the team would win.  If you would like to provide your own prizes, you could have bigger prizes for winning the bonus game and smaller ones for not.

You may submit team or family names beforehand.
