CAESARS GREAT WORD CHALLENGE

It’s the exciting prize-maximus, letter-perfect gameshow!

Three contestants compete against each other answering trivia questions and unscrambling words on the BIG SLOT MACHINE.

Each round will begin with a scrambled-up word on the BIG SLOT MACHINE.  Here is an example:

A subject will be revealed, in which the scrambled word relates to in some way.  In this example, the subject is BASEBALL.

One of the slots on the BIG SLOT MACHINE will also be highlighted red (in this case, it’s the 4th slot).  This is known as the LUCKY SLOT (explained below).

Contestants are then asked one of a series of multiple-choice questions, all of which also relate to the revealed subject.  Every question has three possible answers.  Let’s say the first question is, “Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, or Aaron Judge?  Which of these Major League Baseball players never played for the Yankees?”.

The first contestant to buzz in is allowed to answer first.  In this example, Erin buzzed in first and answered “Hank Aaron”.  She is correct and receives $100 and control of the BIG SLOT MACHINE.

Erin must now decide which letter in the scrambled word she would like to place in its correct spot.  She chooses the ‘N’.

The letters will reshuffle, placing the ‘N’ in its correct position in the word (indicated by the red fill-in).  Erin now has five seconds to guess what the scrambled word is.  If she is correct, she wins the word and the amount of the remaining letters (in this case, it would be $600).  If she cannot answer in five seconds, the round continues with another buzz-in question.

  • During the question portion, if a contestant buzzes in and answers incorrectly, the other two contestants will then have a chance to buzz in and guess one of the remaining two answers.  If the second contestant is also incorrect, the remaining contestant is automatically awarded the money and control of the BIG SLOT MACHINE.

Another question is asked, and this time, Brian is able to get the correct answer.  He then decides to place the ‘M’ in its correct slot.

After the letters reshuffle, the ‘M’ appears in the 4th slot, which is also the LUCKY SLOT.  If Brian is able to solve the word in five seconds, he will earn the money for the remaining letters (in this case $500) as well as the bonus cash for the LUCKY SLOT.  The amount for the LUCKY SLOT appears in a jackpot in the center of the BIG SLOT MACHINE.  The first LUCKY SLOT is worth $500.

Brian is able to correctly solve the word, winning him $1,000 altogether, for a total of $1,100!

  • If a contestant is unable to solve the word as soon as a letter is placed in the LUCKY SLOT, the LUCKY SLOT is then out of play for the remainder of that word and the amount of its jackpot carries over to the next word.  Every LUCKY SLOT is worth an additional $500 and will accumulate until it is won.

After the first word is solved, a new word will be scrambled on the BIG SLOT MACHINE, with a new subject and LUCKY SLOT.

  • The first two words are 7-letters long and each correct answer/letter is worth $100
  • The next two words are 8-letters long and each correct answer/letter is worth $200
  • The final three words are 9-letters long and each correct answer/letter is worth $300

After 7 words have been solved, whichever contestant has the most money wins the game and gets to play CAESARS TOURNAMENT!

In CAESARS TOURNAMENT, a cage filled with letter balls will spin and drop one random letter down the ramp at a time.

As the letters continue to accumulate, a computer will generate the first 9-letter Webster’s Dictionary certified word it can find from the letters given.

As soon as a 9-letter word is found, the balls will stop rolling down the ramp and the letters will be displayed on the BIG SLOT MACHINE in the order they appeared.

The contestant is then allowed to choose one letter they would like placed in its correct position.  (You may allow for more than one if you wish, see SUGGESTIONS)

After the letter(s) is placed, the contestant has ten seconds to try to unscramble the word.  If they can, they win the grand prize!

*FOR ALL SHOWS: The main purpose for these shows is entertainment and fun, first and foremost.  While many of these games display large amounts of money and/or lavish prizes, we do NOT provide any such prizes for the games.  All parties are welcome to provide their own prizes/gifts that may be implemented in gameplay.  Below are simply some suggestions we have come up with in order to make the gameplay more interesting and/or competitive.

*ADD A SWAG BAG!: Want to play for real prizes?  Add a swag bag of awesome Eek! products to any gameshow package and award gifts as individual prizes or play for an ultimate prize package!

For larger groups, you may play in teams instead of individuals.

If you would like to provide your own prizes, you can include them as part of winning the main game or Caesars Tournament, or you could use the “money” won as a currency to buy prizes.  For example, if a contestant wins a total of $6,000, they could trade that money in for a prize (say a $5 Starbucks gift card is worth $500, a $10 Amazon card is worth $2,500, a paid day off work is worth $5,000, etc.).  Again, you would need to provide these prizes, but we are happy to keep score for you.

In Caesars Tournament, you can allow for more letters to be placed in their correct positions by simply allowing 2 or 3, or perhaps toss a coin and if they call the correct side, they are allowed an extra letter.
