Who, What, or Where? These are the questions contestants will be answering!
GAMEPLAY
Three contestants compete against each another, answering questions about the who (people), what (things), or where (places) of various subjects.
To begin the game, each contestant is given a pot of $125. Each game consists of 10 rounds of questions, including the final POT LIMIT round.
Each round, contestants are shown a category as well as the payout odds depending on which question is chosen. The letter ‘E’ represents “even odds,” or a 1:1 payout, a ‘2’ represents 2:1 odds, and a ‘3’ represents 3:1 odds. The higher the odds on a question, the more difficult it will be.
Contestants secretly choose which question they want to answer (Who, What, or Where), as well as how much money they want to wager. Contestants can wager anywhere from $5 to $50, in 5-dollar increments. Boards will be given to contestants so they may write their information in secret.
After contestants declare their question and wager, the following may happen:
- If contestants choose three different questions, as in the above example, each contestant will be given their respective question.
- If two or more contestants choose the same question, only the contestant who wagered more money is given the question.
- If two or more contestants choose the same question AND wager the same amount, an auction will begin for the question. The tied contestants may wager up to their entire score in this scenario. Bidding will continue until the contestant(s) allow the opposing contestant to answer. If the tie cannot be broken, contestants will be given the same question and will write down their answers in secret.
If a contestant answers their question correctly, they earn whatever they wagered multiplied by the payout odds. If they are incorrect, they are only deducted their wagered amount, regardless of the payout odds.
After the questions are read for that round, another category will appear with new odds for each question.
If at any time during the game a contestant loses their entire pot, they are disqualified from the rest of the game.
POT LIMIT
The final round of questions is known as the POT LIMIT. In this round, contestants may wager up to their entire pot.
The same rules apply as the main game. Contestant will be shown the category and odds for each question, and each will declare their question choice and wager in secret.
The contestant who ends up with the most money at the conclusion of the POT LIMIT round is the winner!
SUGGESTIONS
*FOR ALL SHOWS: The main purpose for these shows is entertainment and fun, first and foremost. While many of these games display large amounts of money and/or lavish prizes, we do NOT provide any such prizes for the games. All parties are welcome to provide their own prizes/gifts that may be implemented in gameplay. Below are simply some suggestions we have come up with in order to make the gameplay more interesting and/or competitive.
*ADD A SWAG BAG!: Want to play for real prizes? Add a swag bag of awesome Eek! products to any gameshow package and award gifts as individual prizes or play for an ultimate prize package!
For larger groups, contestants can play in teams rather than as individuals.
If you would like to provide your own prizes, you could provide them for winning the Game, or you could use the “money” won as a currency to buy prizes. For example, if a contestant “wins” a total of $1,000, they could trade that money in for a prize (say a $5 Starbucks gift card is worth $300, a $10 iTunes card is worth $500, a paid day off work is worth $1,000, etc.). Again, you would need to provide these prizes, but we are happy to keep score for you.
